When you have passed through troubled waters and are on dry land again, always give thanks. In Biblical times, giving thanks always took financial form: Before facing any challenging situation, they gave a "faith offering." After returning, they gave a "thank offering" in appreciation. The purpose of these numerous offerings was to remind them there was nothing automatic about the vast blessings they enjoyed; and that God was the source of their supply.
