"Understanding the Scriptures Through Christ"

"Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures."
Luke24:45

Meditation:

This verse is part of the account where the risen Jesus appears to His disciples. After sharing the truth of His resurrection and demonstrating how all Scripture points to Him, Jesus performs a crucial act: He opens their minds so they can fully understand the message of the Scriptures.

Reflections:

1. The necessity of divine revelation:
Understanding Scripture is not merely an intellectual exercise; it is a gift from God. Jesus Himself must open our minds and hearts to grasp the true meaning of His Word. This reminds us to pray for spiritual discernment.

2. Scripture reveals Christ:
Jesus shows that everything written—from the Law of Moses to the Prophets and the Psalms—points to Him. The Bible is not just a book of rules or stories but a revelation of salvation through Christ.

3. Spiritual transformation:
When Jesus opens our minds, it is not only for understanding but also for living out the Word. True comprehension of the Bible transforms us and deepens our relationship with God.

Personal Application:

Pray to God to open your mind every time you read Scripture.

Reflect on how Jesus is the center of the entire Bible, and seek to see His work in every part of His Word.

Let this understanding inspire you to live a life aligned with God’s will and to share Christ’s message with others.

Prayer:

"Lord Jesus, just as You opened the minds of Your disciples, open my mind and heart so I may understand the Scriptures and see You in every page. Transform my life through Your Word, and help me to share the truth of Your love with others. Amen."

A Son is given

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

This verse is a prophecy about the coming Messiah. It reveals both His humanity ("a Child is born") and divinity ("a Son is given"). The Messiah will carry the authority to rule ("the government will be upon His shoulder") and is described with names that reflect His divine character and mission.

---

2. Interpretation:

"A Child is born, a Son is given" emphasizes the incarnation of Jesus: fully human and fully divine.

"The government will be upon His shoulder" signifies Christ's authority to rule and bring justice, contrasting with flawed human leadership.

His names—Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace—illustrate His multifaceted role in God's plan of salvation:

Wonderful: His life and works inspire awe and transcend human comprehension.

Counselor: He provides perfect guidance and wisdom.

Mighty God: He is the omnipotent and sovereign God.

Everlasting Father: He cares for His people with enduring love and protection.

Prince of Peace: He reconciles humanity to God, offering peace that surpasses understanding.

---

3. Application:
This verse calls us to embrace the Messiah's rule and reflect on His character:

Surrender: Trust in Jesus as the one who governs with perfect wisdom and justice. Allow Him to carry the "government" of your life.

Seek guidance: Look to Him as your Counselor in decisions and challenges.

Rest in His power: Know that as Mighty God, He is able to overcome every obstacle and bring victory.

Experience His love: Lean into the Everlasting Father’s care, knowing His love is eternal.

Walk in peace: Embrace the Prince of Peace, who calms our hearts and reconciles us to God and others.

---

4. Prayer:
"Lord Jesus, You are Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Thank You for coming into this world to bring light and salvation. Help me to surrender my life to Your rule and trust in Your wisdom and power. Teach me to walk in Your peace and to reflect Your love to those around me. Amen."

1. Fear doesn't stop death; it stops life.

2. If it costs you your peace, it's too expensive.

3. People only see the decisions you made, not the choices you had.

4. Never take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from.

7. Ambition without action turns into anxiety.

8. To live a life most people don't, you must be willing to do what most people won't.

9. You can do anything, but not everything-focus.

10. If you want to make the wrong decision, ask everyone.

11. Those who don't move won't notice their chains.

12. It's okay to live a life most people don't understand.

13. If someone could only see your actions and not hear your words, what would they say your priorities are?

14. You can't have a new reality with an old mentality.

15. No risk, no story.

Exodus 7:1 CSB

[1] The Lord answered Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother will be your prophet.

Understand this God made Moses to be like God to Pharaoh his enemy....

Whatever word Moses would say towards Pharaoh it would come to pass...

Don't you love this God...

He has made us to be like God to whoever is contending against us

Why worry over your enemies when God has made them to be beneath you...Speak a word declare your freedom in Jesus' name

May you be victorious today in Jesus' name

May you be the head and not the tail in Jesus' name

May you find favour for promotion this month in Jesus name

You shall be celebrated in Jesus' name

Just like Moses delivered his people from the yoke of Pharaoh,May you be the one to break that cycle of stagnancy in your bloodline in Jesus' name

Just like Moses delivered his kinsmen from slavery ,May you be the one to break those Generational curses operating in your family in Jesus' name

Be blessed

One of the reasons we get so overwhelmed by the problems and obstacles in front of us is that we assume we have to conquer them with our own limited resources and abilities. The good news is that when we are following God and working in His assignment, He will fight those impossible battles for us.

In truth, Jesus has already won the war. Our role is to enforce the victory. Yes, that might mean we face some battles. Even then, we do well to simply stand firm on God’s promises and watch Him deal with the fight. That’s why it’s more like joy-fare than warfare.

God longs to show Himself strong on your behalf. Just be loyal to God. Trust Him. And then watch Him fight your battles for you. That way God gets all the glory and you get to enjoy the blessing of the victory!

And he said, “Pay attention all Judah, and those dwelling in Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the Lord to you, ‘Do not fear, nor be dismayed because of this great army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.’” — 2 Chronicles 20:15 (MEV)

Genesis 25:21 NIV
[21] Isaac prayed to the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The Lord answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.

Isaac spoke life into his barren wife , instead of fighting and accusing his wife of spiritual husbands he prayed unto God

Most times we look for faults instead of pleading for our loved ones to God

Pray for your husband to get promotion at work

Pray for your children to be intelligent at school....address their problems in the prayer room

Be different instead of wasting money on sangoma and earthly divination...plead your case to God tonight He will surely answer you .

Pray for your wife

Pray as a couple

Pray as a family

Pray as a community

Never allow your mouth to speak negative things into your life ... Pray .... speak life into that situation in Jesus' name

Before you start calling yourself poor and unlucky... Pray unto God for your increase

When we pray miracles happen

Pray for your spouse who is an unbeliever.... Mention their name in prayer plead for their deliverance

We have a role to play soldier.... For things to change around us ...we need to take action now....

Fight your battles on your knees
